When we listen to Col3trane we soon realize that this is an artist who is obsessed with music, as a musician and a listener. When he was just twenty years old, he offered us dark and confessional songs, in a perfect synthesis of soul, hip-hop and R&B. Born and raised in North London, Cole's earliest musical memories are the long car trips where he used to listen to David Bowie, Michael Jackson, Prince (his mother's favourite) and Motown's greatest hits. Rap came later and with it the love for Nas, Biggie and others, along with the desire to make his own music. It wasn't long before the first songs began to be released on SoundCloud. In these times, in an increasingly competitive world, young Cole's songs stand out for their quality. In 2017, he released "Tsarina", a mixtape where we can feel Cole's many influences (Michael Jackson, Prince's "Purple Rain" and a lot of rap, of course) and his ability to make different strings vibrate. The second mixtape "BOOT" goes more into the London jazz scene, dialoguing with contemporary references such as saxophonist Nubya Garcia and drummer/composter Moisés Boyd. His new EP, "Heroine" proves that Cole is a full on artist - contradictory, experimental, in love, never giving up on an irresistible pop appeal. All of this will be felt in Lisbon at the next Super Bock in Stock.
